What's a Lutheran?
There are different branches; our branch is firmly convinced that the Bible is the Word of God. We’re also firmly convinced that the Bible’s main message is good news – that God loved the whole world (and therefore, loved you and me) so much that He (Jesus) came to this world Himself, was born, lived, died on the cross, and rose from the dead, so sinners like us could go to heaven. That’s a great message! We try to let that good news shine through everything we do. For a more about what we believe, send us an email, give us a call, or stop on by!
Our Church Body
Living Word is one of many congregations associated with an international church body called the WELS. The Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS) is a cooperating group of congregations headquartered in Waukesha, Wisconsin. Since 1858, the congregations of the WELS have been working together to do, as a whole, what individual congregations cannot. They train pastors, teachers, and other ministerial staff. They send missionaries all over the world - everywhere from Taipei, Taiwan to Johnson City, TN. They publish excellent theological and practical resources for the church. They do considerable relief work wherever there is need. Living Word is proud to be a member congregation of the WELS.
