LEARN MORE ABOUT OUR CHURCH

What's Living Word Like?

What’s your worship like?

Both the Greek and Hebrew words for “worship” literally mean, “to bow down before someone out of awe and respect.”  (The Bible was originally written in Greek and Hebrew; to become a pastor, Pastor Stuebs had to take 7 years of Greek, 5 years of Hebrew, 8 years of school total)  So, we try to conduct worship in a dignified way.  We use an order of worship – usually printed entirely in the service folder, so everyone can easily follow it – sing hymns and songs, hear a sermon about a section of the Bible, and pray.  Often we will have blended worship with instrumentalists. All our services focus on the heart of our faith, Jesus Christ and his undeserved sacrifice which grants us salvation.  Our hope is that people leave worship saying, “Wow, what a wonderful God we have, a God who’s saved us!”

What’s your Sunday Schedule?

From the Sunday after labor day through the end of may, Sunday School begins at 9:30 am, with worship at both 8:15 and 10:45 am. In the summer months, we meet at 9:30 for worship with a family Bible class after service. We usually have about 130 people in worship.

What’s Sunday School like?

Our adult class is well attended, with about 40 adults meeting in our sanctuary between services. Our children’s Sunday School is excellent, with age-appropriate groups for preschool through 8th grade, plus a teen class, and a nursery for infants and toddlers.

What do most people wear when they come to church?

We’re flexible!  Some wear a shirt and tie, or a dress.  Others wear khakis and knit tops, while some come in jeans (or shorts) and tee-shirts.  We’re thrilled to have you come!  Please dress as you see fit!

Are there activities for kids and teens?

In addition to an excellent Sunday School, we also offer a youth group. They meet weekly for Bible class on Sunday mornings. They also meet once/month for some Bible study followed by some fun activities, a service project, or just to hang out with friends. We’ve gone to the corn maze, done pumpkin carving, swimming parties, bowling, bonfires, etc. We also send our youth group to a youth rally once a year.

Do you have a nursery?

Yes we do have a fully equipped nursery with the live streaming service.

Do you offer adult instruction classes?

Yes!  The Bible Instruction Class is a 10-lesson, basics of the Bible course for those who want to learn more, or who are considering joining. Our Bible Instruction Class is an introductory to membership course. We view it as the beginning of your growth in the Word. You can schedule a private session with Pastor Stuebs or join in with the larger group class when it is offered.
